A Physiotherapy practice is aiming to double the size of its business in the next 12 months after expanding into new purpose-built physio and sports rehab facility.

Helen Reed, who created the Physio Plus Clinic in 2007 is expanding into new premises and with it, is widening the range of related services on offer at the practice which has moved just a few doors down from its original home on Newton Road in High Heaton. The new base will have the capacity to treat up to 200 individuals per week.

Physio Plus’s new 1.200sq ft clinic means a doubling in the number of private treatment rooms, new staff areas and a new purpose-built rehabilitation gym room that will allow for a range of rehab exercises and programmes to be undertaken on-site under the watchful gaze of Physio Plus’s experienced team.

The new rehabilitation room will have a range of recovery equipment, including a state-of-the-art treadmill and video analysis facilities. This will be used by Physio Plus’s team of podiatrists and biomechanical specialists to identify and assess issues with gait and posture.

Helen said: “This is a major step change for Physio Plus. Demand for the services of our experienced team has grown steadily since launch and it’s a proud moment to know the business has outgrown our original base. We are delighted with our location, just yards from the Freeman Hospital, so to have found the ideal space to cater for our expansion plans just a few doors down from our original home is particularly pleasing. The addition of these new elements will help us stay one step ahead in offering our clients the right treatment and help us accurately map out the right recovery plans.

Reed has committed to a substantial six-figure, long-term investment plan which is also likely to create additional specialist positions in the next 12 months. As well as physio’ treatment, sports rehab and sports massage, the Physio Plus Clinic is also expanding its biomechanic analysis facilities as well as widening the availability of dedicated one-to-one and small group pilates sessions.

Reed, a former Freeman Hospital physio, who’s team also assists Northumberland County Rugby and Newcastle University representative teams with their own physio and sports recovery programmes, added: “All these additional elements are vital in enabling us to provide solutions which offer the right blend of treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.

“We’re really looking forward to working with many more individuals, groups, sports teams and corporate partners in helping them on the road to recovery.”
